PureKIC® Natural & Foul-odor Free
Alpha-ketoisocaproate (KIC), also known as 4-Methyl-2-oxopentanoic acid or alpha-ketoisocaproic acid, is an alpha-keto acid derived from the branched-chain amino acid leucine through transamination. KIC serves as a key intermediate in leucine catabolism, playing a critical role in energy production and protein metabolism.
Endogenously produced from leucine, about 90-95% of KIC is stored in skeletal muscles, with the remainder distributed across other organs. Supplementing with PureKIC®, especially among athletes, promotes muscle growth, accelerates recovery post-exercise, and may aid in wound healing.
PureKIC® is anticatabolic, promoting the transition from a catabolic (muscle-wasting) state to an anabolic (muscle-building) state, which aids in muscle growth.
PureKIC® is effective for enhancing athletic performance and recovery, particularly when used alongside other ergogenic aids. Its role in vital metabolic processes also makes it a promising option for individuals with specific dietary needs or metabolic conditions.
